Milpitas (7-1, 4-1) at Homestead (6-2, 3-2) – Friday, 7:30

Saratoga (2-6, 1-4) at Los Gatos (6-1-1, 3-1-1)– Friday, 7:30

Wilcox (2-5-1, 1-3-1) at Mountain View (5-3, 3-2) – Friday, 2:45

Los Altos (1-7, 0-5) at Palo Alto (6-2, 4-1) – Friday, 7:30

Milpitas led 10-0 at the half and four different players scored touchdowns in a 31-17 win at Saratoga.  The Trojans now have an opportunity to play for the league title versus Palo Alto next week if they can beat Homestead.  It’s a great matchup, as Milpitas is averaging 30 points per game, while the Mustangs are allowing 15 points per game after a 35-10 win at Wilcox.  The Milpitas defense will attempt to contain Jorge Talamante and Tyler Bond, who each scored two touchdowns last week and each have over 600 yards on the ground this year.  Last season, it was a defensive battle as Milpitas came out on top 9-3 over Homestead.  The Trojans dominated in total yards, 355-156, and have won this game each of the last three years.

Saratoga’s Stephen Ruff scored 10 of the 17 Falcon points in that loss to Milpitas.  The Falcons are trying to stop a four-game losing streak against Los Gatos, who easily won 63-0 against Los Altos behind Matt Etterman’s 165 yards and three touchdowns.  The Falcons won last year’s game, 21-17, despite 248 yards rushing and two touchdowns from the Wildcats’ Garret Zeiter.

Wilcox has now dropped three of four since their tie against Los Gatos, while Mountain View has allowed 29.5 points per game after their 46-14 loss at Palo Alto.  The Spartans defense allowed 455 yards and, last season, surrendered 441 yards rushing in a 40-14 loss to Wilcox in the playoffs.

Palo Alto sophomore quarterback Keller Chryst had another big game in that win against the Spartans with 252 yards and four touchdowns.  He now has eight touchdowns passing in the last two weeks, and is expected to have a huge game against a Los Altos defense that is allowing 45 points per game.
