Tennis: NCS Team Brackets Announced; Tamalpais, Piedmont are #1 seeds

Tamalpais (24-1) tries to repeat as NCS champions, but they’ll attempt to do it in Division I after taking the Division II crown last year.  Piedmont (19-5) is the #1 seed in Division II.

The toughest competition for Tamapais will likely come from the EBAL, as Foothill (18-1), defending champion Monte Vista (15-4), Amador Valley (14-4), and San Ramon Valley (12-8) are seeded 2-5.  EBAL teams have won 6 of the last 7 NCS Division I titles.  The rest of the top seven consist of Campolindo (14-1-1) and Mission San Jose (16-5-1).

CCS Tennis Brackets Announced; Monta Vista, Saratoga’s Yen are top seeds

Monta Vista (21-0) and Saratoga (16-3) may be headed towards another showdown in the CCS Finals.  Last year, Saratoga won their second straight CCS title when the top-seeded Falcons knocked off Monta Vista, the #2 seed, by a 6-1 count.  This season, the unbeaten Matadors are the top seed, while Saratoga is the #2.  Monta Vista will play on Wednesday in the quarterfinals against the winner of Saint Ignatius (14-7) and Evergreen Valley (13-5).
