Women’s Lacrosse: A closer look at the NCS Quarterfinals

#8 Berkeley (14-6) vs. #1 Carondelet (18-2) at Diablo Vista Middle School – Friday, 5:30pm

Defending NCS champion Carondelet is outscoring teams, 18.3-8.7, at a ridiculous rate this season. The Cougars, who have won eight straight since a loss to Cherry Creek (CO), are led by Erin Jeffery’s 97 goals.

Women’s Lacrosse: NCS Playoff Brackets Set

The NCS announced the lacrosse playoff brackets today for Division I and II. This is the second year for NCS Division II.

DIVISION I

Defending NCS champ and this year’s EBAL champion Carondelet (18-2) receives a bye into the quarterfinals. The Cougars play the winner of #9 Redwood (9-9) at #8 Berkeley (13-6), which is the only first round match in either division this season. Berkeley won by a 9-8 score against Redwood in their first match of the season. Both teams were ousted in the first round last year.

Women’s Lacrosse: Monte Vista cruises past Davis, Piedmont wins, Ygnacio stays winless
April 6, 2012

Monte Vista (8-1) impressed with a 16-4 win against Davis (10-3), ending the Blue Devils 10-game win streak. The Mustangs, who led 9-2 at the half, got six goals from Ashlynn Goerz and two goals and two assists from Paige Southmayd. The Mustangs, who are averaging 14.8 goals per game, also got a strong effort in goal from Monica Wilson, who made 12 saves.

The Mustangs are idle until a clash with San Ramon Valley on the 17th.

Women’s Lacrosse: Monte Vista, Carondelet secure wins, remain tied for first in EBAL

Monte Vista (7-1, 5-1) took care of business against Cal on Tuesday, while Carondelet (8-1, 5-1) was a winner against Foothill on Wednesday to keep pace with one another at the top of the East Bay Athletic League.
